A motion picture titled Heist will begin filming in the Memphis area at the end of July thru August.
Heist is a plan-gone-awry crime caper comedy, set to be directed by Waheed AlQawasmi, who has a flair for creating something stylish. Heist promises to be an imaginative story with elements from recently influential genre staples like "Pulp Fiction," & "Trainspotting," the fast pace energy and humor from films such as Snatch, and combines the cleverness in storytelling of "The Usual Suspects."
An open call for actors and extras will be held at The Complex (702 Madison Ave, Memphis TN 38103) from 4pm to 10pm on Tuesday, June 20th. We are looking for people of all ages and ethnicities to portray a wide variety of characters in the movie, including Middle Eastern Americans, African American, and people that have strong Irish and Scottish Accents. No prior experience necessary.
Please drop by to fill out your forms anytime during the day. The casting department will be there to answer any questions you have. This open call will be quick and informative. Casting Director Nicholas Ross has said that the hardest people to find are adult males that can work one or two days during the week and that the production requires a lot of these for the film. If you are interested in participating in this project, please plan to attend the open call. Actors will be called in later for private auditions.
