Actress needed for Hattiloo play

"Shakespeare's Women" opening in March at the Hatiloo Theatre, is looking for a young woman, 20-30's, to play the role of Beatrice, as soon as possible.

Audition workshops

Broadway Boot Camp and Film and Video Audition Workshops with Award Winning Casting Director, Jen Rudin.


House of Talent is proud to sponsor 4 workshops with Jen Rudin, former Director of Casting and Talent Development for Disney Theatrical Productions and Director of Casting for Walt Disney Animation Studios. Jen, whose numerous feature film credits include The Princess and the Frog, the Incredibles, Brother Bear, and Chicken Little, has worked extensively with children and teens in films, theater and television. Jen brings her award winning expertise to Memphis in two distinct workshops for two different age groups.


Four Master Workshops with Jen Rudin
Monday, March 1 at 3:30pm-6:00pm and 7:00pm-9:30pm
Tuesday, March 2 at 3:30pm-6:00pm and 7:00pm-9:30pm

Fee: $125 per session

Each workshop is $125 and there is a free parent and child session for all workshop participants
on Wednesday, March 3 from 4-6 p.m.


Workshops will be held in East Memphis and Cordova, private sessions are also available for a fee.

This fun Broadway boot camp nurtures the passion your child has for performing 
with hands-on tips and tricks to improve the song and the overall performance. 
Students must bring a song with sheet music for the piano player.

FuelFilm 'Pitch In' workshop this weekend

The FuelFilm 'Pitch In' is a workshop to inspire, motivate and challenge screenwriters and filmmakers to focus their film idea into the perfect pitch.


The Fuel Film/ Write Club 'Pitch-In' will challenge your skills, shake you up, wake you up and get your creative juices flowing.


Come meet industry professionals and other screenwriters in a fun, creative session designed get those ideas out of the ether and on the page.


Featuring a 20 min intro and motivational discussion with screenwriter/author David Gerrold via video conference, followed by round-table feedback workshops to hone your story idea and elements, treatment or screenplay into a coherent and compelling one minute
pitch in a positive and supportive atmosphere.


Gerrold has a long career of writing for films and television,  publishing several books, garnering Hugo and Nebula awards, all beginning with the original Star Trek series. Mr. Gerrold has also penned episodes for: Land of the Lost, Babylon 5, Sliders, and The Twilight Zone.


Gerrold will graciously share his experiences and expertise in writing for the medium and advice on the art of successful screenplay pitching.

FuelFIlm 'Pitch In' - effective ways to pitch your film


The FuelFilm "Pitch In" is a workshop to inspire, motivate and challenge screenwriters and filmmakers to focus their film idea into the perfect pitch.

It features a 20-minute intro and motivational discussion with screenwriter/author David Gerrold via video conference, followed by round-table feedback workshops to hone the story idea and elements, treatment or screenplay into a coherent and compelling one-minute pitch in a positive and supportive atmosphere.

The event is Saturday, Feb. 13 at 1 p.m. at Emerge Memphis, 516 Tennessee St. (downtown) in the Tennessee Room
Cost is $10  and includes light snacks and deli lunch. 

Li'l Film Fest 13 seeks entries

Entries are being accepted for Li'l Film Fest 13: BEWARE! The Sivads of March

Li'l Film Fest pays homage to Memphis' legendary Monster of Ceremonies, Sivad, host of WHBQ-TV's "Fantastic Features" from 1962 to 1972.

Films must be under five minutes and will have eight instances of ambitious alliteration - verbal, visual, anywhere, anyhow, (2) make use of the secret ingredient: smoke or fog, and (3) include a minimum of one likeness of Sivad in your film. Notations of these elements must be submitted.

Entry Deadline: Postmarked Friday March 5, 2010 (in hand by Monday, March 8th)
Entry Fee: $10.00
Festival will be at 2 p.m. March 27, 2010 at the Memphis Brooks Museum of Art
Prizes: Grand Jury Award ($500) is presented by The Memphis & Shelby County Film and Television Commission.; Audience Choice Award is the take from admission to the screening.

Besides The Memphis and Shelby County Film and Television Commission, other sponsors include the Brooks Museum, Indie Memphis and AudioGraphics Masterworks.
