Lights, Camera… What?: Acting for Film
taught by local filmmaker Jessica Powers
January 26 & 27, 1:00p-4:00p (6 hrs total)
For Ages 10-14
Price: $ 150.00
This condensed seminar will cover not only guidelines specifically meant for acting on film, but also useful tips for film auditions and behavior on a film set. Each child will get the opportunity to prepare scenes from actual films and then be put on tape for a mock audition, including standard slating. By the end of the seminar, the child is meant to have a better understanding of the way filmmaking works and use the skills they learned to become better film actors.
This seminar is meant to be not only a stand-alone tool, but also an introduction to more, in-depth courses to be offered by Slacker Central Productions in the future.
Jessica Powers is a local filmmaker who has been writing, directing, producing, and editing short films for six years. Three of her short films have been seen in the Indie Memphis Film Festival.
If you're interested but aren't the right age, please respond anyway! Let us know you're interested and that perhaps we need to offer another seminar with a different range. Thank you!
